About Online Lectures
Our online lectures are a key aspect of the work we will be doing here at the Free Black University. Our intention is for them to be cutting edge, creative, and truly push the boundaries of knowledge production as we know it.
We aim to create a space in which the creators we work with feel inspired and challenged to develop radical and imaginative knowledge that current institutions would not facilitate.
We want to truly and deeply engage fugitive study, conceptualising the margins of academia as insurgent ground for “beautiful experiments” as Sadiya Hartman puts it.
Work - in - progress
We are in the process of developing our critical pedagogical and theoretical framework. We aim to use academia as a critical tool in the movement towards Black liberation, to be purposeful and meaningful in the works we co-create with our community so that we all shall move towards our collective aims. We will engage the radical Black imagination so that we can collectively dream up new visions for the freedom and healing of our people.
